Menu Bar¶
ExtraDock adds a tray icon to the macOS menu bar for quick access to your docks and common actions.
The menu bar icon appears when the app mode includes “Menu Bar” (see General Settings).
Opening the menu¶
Click the ExtraDock icon in the menu bar to open the tray menu.
Available actions¶
Show App — Open the management window (
⌘⇧M)Create New Dock — Add a new dock (
⌘N)Check for Updates — Look for a new version
Quit ExtraDock — Exit the app (
⌘Q)
Per-dock controls¶
Each dock is listed by name with its accent color and position mode. Click a dock to expand its submenu:
Quick settings
Size — Adjust icon size with a slider
Accent Color — Pick from the color palette
Orientation — Switch between horizontal and vertical
Visibility & behavior
Hide/Show Dock — Toggle dock visibility
Auto-hide — Enable and set the delay (Instant, Quick, Normal, Relaxed)
Hide on Fullscreen — Toggle fullscreen detection
Collapse Mode — Switch between None, Icon, and Mini modes
Hover-to-Expand — Toggle hover expansion (when collapse is active)
Show Drag Icon — Toggle the drag handle
Position
Position Mode — Switch between Floating and Fixed (Left, Right, Top, Bottom)
Display — Assign the dock to a specific monitor (multi-monitor setups only)
Management
Rename — Change the dock’s display name
Duplicate — Create a copy of the dock
Remove Dock — Delete the dock
