Quick Start

Create your first dock

  1. Click the ExtraDock icon in your menu bar

  2. Click Show App to open the management window

  3. Click + New Dock to create a dock

  4. Your new dock appears on screen — drag it wherever you want

Add apps

There are two ways to add apps to a dock:

  • Drag and drop — Drag any .app file from Finder directly onto the dock

  • File dialog — Right-click the dock background → Add Apps & Folders, or use the + button in the management window

Try it: drag a few apps from your Applications folder onto your new dock.

Move it around

  • Drag the dock to reposition it anywhere on screen

  • Drag near a screen edge and it snaps into place

  • Right-click the dock background to access position and behavior settings

Quick things to try

  • Create a second dock and drag it to another monitor

  • Right-click the dock → Orientation → Vertical to flip it sideways

  • Right-click → Collapse Mode → pick a direction, then click the collapse button that appears

  • Right-click an app → Hide or Quit to control running apps directly
