Quick Start

Create your first dock

  1. Click the ExtraDock icon in your menu bar

  2. Click Show App to open the management window

  3. Click Add Dock to create a dock

  4. Your new dock appears on screen — drag it wherever you want

Add items

There are two ways to add items to a dock:

  • Drag and drop — Drag an app, folder, or file from Finder directly onto the dock

  • Items tab — Open the management window → select a dock → Items → Add Item

Try it: drag a few apps from your Applications folder onto your new dock.

Add a widget

  1. Open the management window → select a dock → Items

  2. Click Add Widget

  3. Choose a widget, such as Clock, Finder, Trash, or Live Dock

  4. Click the gear icon beside the widget to configure it

Move it around

  • Drag the dock to reposition it anywhere on screen

  • Drag near a screen edge and it snaps into place

  • Switch to Fixed mode to pin it to an edge

Quick things to try

  • Create a second dock and assign it to another monitor

  • Set a dock to Vertical orientation

  • Enable Collapse Mode and click the collapse button

  • Add a Shelf widget and drag a file into it

  • Add a Live Dock widget to see running apps

  • Right-click an app → Hide or Quit to control running apps directly
